Good morning. I'm writing to let you know about what's on the horizon for my YAV year. At this point, I know little in regards to where I will be working, how I'll be getting around, and what the schedule for the year looks like... but as you know, I don't have much trouble keeping myself occupied whatever the circumstance. Before summer ends, I'm cleaning things out about the house, working a ton, making a scrapbook, playing Zelda 3DS - well, you know. This and that. I'm trying to get strong before San Antonio because I think I'll need a lot of strength for the year... assuming that I survive the summer, of course. If I don't, you'll receive word, so don't sweat it.
Listen, blog - let me tell you about prayer. Sometimes I don't understand why it's important to ask God to make things happen. That is, I can see why it's important for us - I think prayer helps enlarge the heart, brings us closer to God, and inspires us to act. But when it comes to asking God to do things or help people far away, I guess... I wonder why God would be more likely to support a cause or change people based on how many requests God gets. Is God not already active in our lives? Does a human prayer make God care more about a thing, or act more in support of a thing, than if nobody had prayed for it? I think there are many ways to approach prayer, but this scenario of beseeching help seems weird. Not wrong, just weird. Why would God be less likely to help someone if no one prays for it? Perhaps the point is to make God happy by showing our concern for others. I'd just hope God would be doing stuff regardless, you know?
Anyway, I'll talk to you later. Take care.
Caro
